ASH COTTAGE - FEATURES

Ash Cottage is a self contained cottage for 2, all on one level with its own secluded and private garden, patio and seating.

A quiet setting, high on the fellside over-looking the Elterwater valley and a panorama of mountains including the Langdale Pikes, Crinkle Crags and Wetherlam.

Centrally located in the heart of the National Park, yet away from the crowds, you are within easy reach of all the attractions.

Here you will find some of the most majestic mountain scenery in Britain and certainly some of the finest walking.

Well stocked village shops are to be found in Elterwater and Chapel Stile. Good pubs and restaurants within easy reach including the famous "Drunken Duck".


The Cottage has a small cloakroom entrance suitable for hanging outdoor clothes.

Ceramic tiles cover the floor of the entrance, seperate w/c and the fully equipped and fitted kitchen (fan assisted oven / grill, hob, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment).

The cosy sitting room has a feature fireplace which has the original hob fire, electric fire, Sky colour TV, DVD and CD player. The dining facilities are located at one end in order for you to enjoy the spectacular views. There is a divan settee should guests prefer seperate beds.

A pine door leads to the bedroom with double bed, fully made up for your arrival with king size duvet. (Shower, heated towel rail, basin and hairdryer). Electricity is by 50p meter.

Out and About

Snow on The Carrs, Little Langdale

Wonderful sunsets and fascinating climatic conditions are visible from the elevated position of the cottage sitting-room, patio and garden.

Wildlife is abundant. Deer, both Red and Roe, roam freely. You will often see Buzzards soaring at eye level. Red Squirrels still build their drays here. Bats ans Owls emerge at dusk. A multitude of wild flowers grow, such as the Heath Spotted Orchid.

Walking can begin at the door. Join the old packhorse route to Hawkshead and reach Tarn Hows without nearing a road. Maps, information pack, binoculars are kept in the cottage for your use.
